Sometimes, I’m just in a yellow mood.

These are the shoes I’ve been remastering the past couple weeks. I decided to take them out for a stroll pre-makeover. It was a gorgeous, sunlit day but a little cool. Sporting some neon legs here. I have a vast collection of colored tights from years past and I’m trying to figure out if I still like them. I think I may be outgrowing that particular style, but I do like this look.
I got this amazing ring from Etsy: it’s made from the yellowing pages of an old book. I am so careful when I wear it; it’s treated with shellac or something but it’s still delicate!

Happy April! April and May are my favorite months of the year. I love when it starts to rain every day and you can smell the sweetness of the rain in the air. It’s so refreshing and warm. It’s also when I start to pull out the Frizz-Ease to tame my mane of hair! You win some, you lose some.
This outfit combines two of my favorite spring trends: floral and thigh-high socks. I had a lot of fun styling these pieces and it was the perfect spring day, when the air just starts to warm up and rise in humidity. It even started to drizzle. I loved it.

“Everyone has talent. What’s rare is the courage to follow it to the dark places where it leads.”

DIY boots! I recently wore this on a windy day to a brunch in Soho with some friends. It was unseasonably warm out a couple weeks ago and I got so excited I decided to put on some flowery shoes! These shoes are actually really comfortable but I had to glue them up a bit more to stop all the fraying. Hopefully the stubborn, crazy strong E-6000 glue holds because I can’t give these shoes up. They’re too pretty.
I can’t wait for spring to really come!

Saving money makes me want to spend it. I suppose it makes sense. My little reward for skimping on clothes and driving around to find a meter with time already on it is that once in a while I can give myself free rein to shop, within reason. I bought a dress, a blazer, and a couple of belts. Then I stopped by my local Barnes & Noble and had coffee with my sister. I couldn’t resist picking up a copy of Truman Capote’s Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
I love the heart keyhole back on this white knit dress, and the blazer is fitted with ruching on the sleeves. I also indulged my inner girly girl with a couple of bow belts.
“What I found does the most good is just to get into a taxi and go to Tiffany’s. It calms me down right away, the quietness and the proud look of it; nothing very bad could happen to you there.”
“This is a massive world, I think, and in each centimeter of it, a different drama unfolds every second of the day. But we live on as if the next moment in our lives will be no different than the last. How foolish we all are.” — Mahbod Seraji
