Spring Work Look // Floral Cigarette Trousers + Longline Vest

I’m all about trying ways to make my work outfits super fun, and one of the ways I do that is by playing with patterns and shapes. There’s nothing I love better than a good ol’ floral print, so wearing anything with a floral print (like embroidery) instantly makes me feel more like myself! Which is especially important when you’re dressing for work–business casual can even be a drag sometimes.

I put together this look with shades of blue and a contrasting pale pink shoe. I think it’s a perfect work-appropriate spring look that you can wear afterward, too. Letting an outfit take you from desk to dinner is a definite plus! Hope you like this look. 🙂Read More »

The Last Day of Winter with Jord Wood Watches // Review & Giveaway!

Finally, after a long and weird winter, it’s spring. Even though it doesn’t quite feel like it. I have always loved winter; the beautiful snow and the cold temperatures always felt enchanting to me, and I love that during winter I can stay home more and be a dork, doing the things I love like reading and eating. 🙂 But this year, I’ve had enough of winter and am eagerly awaiting the freshness of spring. Today I’m celebrating the last days of winter with a review of Jord Wood Watches.

I’ve worked with Jord before, and this time I had the opportunity to review a men’s watch! I really loved the quality of the watch I received, and it seemed wintry to me, in a very good way: the dark sandalwood and the burgundy face really call to mind winter. So here are some wintry shots of this beautiful watch!Read More »

Separates. This outfit was almost accidental. The top was previously a dress that I cut in two because the hem was far too long. I asked my mom to hem the bottom of the newly-made “crop top” and then I paired it with this old Tobi skirt I forgot I had. Happy accident. These stockings have been in my wardrobe since 2009, and I think it’s time to retire them. They used to be my favorite. IMG_1038 IMG_1046 IMG_1064 IMG_1109 IMG_1143IMG_1060

These are the shoes I’ve been remastering the past couple weeks. I decided to take them out for a stroll pre-makeover. It was a gorgeous, sunlit day but a little cool. Sporting some neon legs here. I have a vast collection of colored tights from years past and I’m trying to figure out if I still like them. I think I may be outgrowing that particular style, but I do like this look.

I got this amazing ring from Etsy: it’s made from the yellowing pages of an old book. I am so careful when I wear it; it’s treated with shellac or something but it’s still delicate!
