An in-depth Zaful review // hit or miss?

Here on The Most Happy, I like to showcase trends as well as personal style, and because my style tends to change a lot based on the season, shopping the latest trends can get expensive. I like getting deals and being frugal about my shopping habit, so of course, sites like Romwe, Shein, and Zaful have often appeared on my computer screen. But it’s also a risk to shop at sites like these, because they’re often a rip off. I’ve already reviewed Romwe and Shein, and today I thought I’d do an in-depth Zaful review.

Zaful-review

Full disclosure! All of these items were in a PR package provided by Zaful, but that doesn’t mean I won’t be 100% honest in my Zaful review! So, without further ado, here’s what I ordered from Zaful and whether it was a hit or a miss.

Fashion // Golden Hour

I love long summer evenings when the sun takes forever to set, and so for hours the entire world looks like it’s gilded. I took these photos during that golden hour time, and it was actually perfect for this outfit. The romper is a knit romper from Shein, a website I’ve reviewed before and still find to be a decent outlet for trends, and this soft jumpsuit is a perfect transition piece for my wardrobe.

End of summer wish list // transitioning a wardrobe

Okay, I know it’s not the end of summer yet, but when I shop mid-July, it’s usually because I’m transitioning a wardrobe to work in the early fall, too! I’m a big fan of the boho look, but with tailored pieces and soft accents, and this year is no different. All summer I’ve been really into florals, maxis, and my good ol’ easy fallback, the romper. (Actually, now I’m realizing that my favorite summer looks are one-piece, easy to style outfits, which makes perfect sense for an easy summer wardrobe!) So for early fall, when it’s still warm during the day but cooler at night, here are some of the things on my wish list:

Is Romwe legit? A review + shopping tips for similar sites

This year, the lid was kinda-sorta blown off a string of clothing websites based in China. Buzzfeed covered the story, and many familiar, cheap sites, Romwe among them, were mentioned. Is Romwe legit? Are any of them legit? Is it all just a scam?

I’ve shopped at some of these sites in the past, Romwe and Shein among them, and while I do think there is definitely a higher risk associated with shopping from these foreign, cheapish sites, I also think that getting a great deal shopping at these websites is absolutely possible.

First off, here are the sites mentioned in the article I have personally bought clothing from (this post is sponsored in no way, even though I have worked with a couple of these brands in the past). I have shopped at: Romwe, Shein, Choies, and Sammy Dress. I have not bought clothing from Rosewe, Rosegal, Zaful, or TideBuy. Here are some tips!Read More »

Fashion // Queen of Disaster

It’s finally maxi dress season, which means my outfits are going to get much easier to put together. I absolutely adore maxi dresses, and summer is the perfect time to wear one, because they’re the least fiddly of all the dresses—no need to worry about skirt length or whether your shoes match. Cause no one can see them anyway! (Usually.) I recently received this pretty blue paisley-print maxi and I like this dress because it’s really flowy, and because it’s versatile; you can even wear it as a top layer over shorts and a tank. I wore this to Mountain Jam, and also to work (my office fashion has recently become a lot more relaxed, because it’s summer and I’m getting lazier 🙂 ). The maxi dress becoming a go-to.

Tips for buying a maxi dress:

Keep your height in mind. I’m a middling height (5’5) so I don’t usually have issues with length, but girls who are either taller or shorter than average will want to check on the maxi dress length, especially if, like me, you tend to do a lot of your shopping online. Also, I usually go for a maxi dress with a slit down the side or some kind of opening on the bottom to provide some movement so it doesn’t look so much like you’re wearing a bedsheet over your body (I have dresses like those and they’re much more “meh”). I also like maxis with a lighter material, to provide aforementioned flow. Hope you like this look!3-shein_fashion_review_the_most_happy-5Read More »

Fashion // I sing the body electric

Happy May! I don’t know about where you all live, but here, it’s been raining since Sunday, and won’t stop until Monday. Not a great way to start May, but hey—gotta make the most of it.

Here’s an outfit I’ve been repeating A LOT lately. I tend to do that: find a combo I love, and then exhaust it. The top is actually a dress from Shein, one of those sites that got into trouble recently for scams—and while this “dress” is well made and what I ordered, it is also waaaay too short to be a dress. Here it is as a tunic-type top, paired with burgundy leggings. Hope you like!

Fashion // Born to be free

Spring is approaching! Thought I’d get into the spirit of things and enjoy the warming weather with this bright, floral dress. Since it’s also (sometimes) warm enough to go without full stockings, I wore this with some knee highs, and my favorite Oxford booties. I love the transitions between seasons.
