New Look // Floral embroidery jeans + white shirt combo

Hi all! Today I’ve got a not-so-classic blue jeans/white shirt combo for ya. A few weeks ago I DIYed these floral embroidery jeans and I could not wait to style them in an outfit here. The process was pretty simple: just some adhesive sheets, a lot of cutting, and ironing them on a pair of jeans I already had. I love the way they turned out! Hope you like this look.

Fashion // If you stay, I’ll stay

TOO COLD today for outdoor photos, so I had to stay inside and take a few quick photos before I headed out into the subzero temps. Winter this year has been a little moody, guys. Can’t make up its mind. This outfit is made up of stuff I forgot I had. I always try to be frugal and stay away from shopping for as long as I can hold out, so the most fun thing for me is to turn my drawers inside out and find new and exciting ways to wear things that are old and feel boring to me.

I love this faded orange skirt with this blush pink skirt—perfect for a lighweight (very cold) winter outfit! Love these romantic bell sleeves, with a little lace for good measure. Hope you like.

Fashion // Calendar girl

One of the things I love best about fashion/personal style is using color to express a mood. I love creating color palettes with my clothes, and using those colors to evoke a season or a feeling. I’m a very color-oriented person, and I go through stages where I’m drawn to a certain color, and I use that whenever I do anything creative, fashion included.

Obviously, these are all very classic fall colors, but there’s something about the nude shades with the reds, oranges, and pinks that makes me feel peaceful. It’s also an excuse to rock some awesome red lipstick, something I don’t do often enough!

I wore this outfit to dinner with my family last week. I hope you like it. 2 23 15 3 19 22 6

For the love of boots…

It’s THAT time of year again…boots season!! Okay, so I don’t think this is unusual for we fashion blogger types, but I am wholeheartedly obsessed with boots/booties and I usually go absolutely insane this time of year researching boots, pricing boots, evaluating my collection of boots, trying to make myself stay frugal by not buying boots, and just generally spending 65% of my time (about) thinking about boots.

Cause I like boots.

This year, my boot needs are slim because my boot buying in past years has been wise. That’s a good thing—because I don’t have much to buy, and a bad thing—because I want to buy boots.

So in an effort to remain organized and sort of stop myself from going too crazy, I’ve made a collage of the kinds of boots I tend to gravitate toward and I’ve thought of what I want to wear them with.Screen Shot 2015-09-21 at 4.10.39 PM

I’ve found booties that will work well predominantly with skirts and dresses, since that’s most of what I wear in fall. I’m not a jeans girl, and I think these will also work well with those sleek stretchy pants I wear so much. You’ll also find some flats choices, because my flats collection is sorely lacking.

Title inspiration from Lana Del Rey’s unreleased song “On Our Way,” an oft-repeated track on my iTunes. Love it, love it.

Here are some clothes I wore recently:

Love this high-low top from Forever 21! It’s simple with a trendy touch. Paired with my I-wear-these-with-everything Jeffrey Campbells!

As you can probably guess, I just can’t get away from my color obsession, despite my current neutral-toned wardrobe. Even though this amazing Boohoo romper is a pretty neutral blush, I had to wear it with this multicolored vintage blazer I scored for cheap. I’m into this whole monochrome effect right now, so the blush Jeffrey Campbells were the perfect choice. Funny thing: this old blazer has some serious shoulder pads.

Also: pretty body chain! Simple and subtle, from Forever 21. I love wearing florals all day EVERY DAY.

Happy May Day! Go dance around a maypole with a flower crown on.

This spring I’ve been gravitating toward muted colors—blush, cream, gold, taupe and gray are all on the agenda—which is apparently why I just dyed a bunch of colors in my hair. Looks like I can’t get away from my color obsession. I love feeling like a mermaid. 😉

Here’s an outfit I styled with a dress from Marshalls and these amazing new Jeffrey Campbell sandals I scored on sale. Whenever spring comes around, I get so much more excited to put together dreamy, romantic outfits.

Happy September! Soon the days will shorten and it will snow and then Christmas will be here…I love autumn. Here are some photos from the end of August when I took a walk around my ivy-covered backyard. I’m going to miss summer.

I wore this to my sister’s birthday brunch last weekend. We went to Il Bastardo in Chelsea; it had a really energetic atmosphere, bottomless cocktails, and delicious eggs Benedict, a must-have for me. Gotta love a good brunch!
