There’s something about very feminine dressing that makes me feel really confident. I’m so much more comfortable in dresses than in pants; in bright, pastel colors than in blacks and greys; and in floral prints than in stripes. This outfit combines a little of all of that, and then some.
For years, I never wore jeans. There was something about how simple they were and how gosh-darn uncomfortable they are that made me chuck mine out and not touch denim for like three or four years. I know it’s weird, but leggings, stretchies, and colored pants were not only more comfortable, but more fun to wear. This year, I broke my jeans fast and bought myself good-quality Levi’s that are perfect for everyday, for nice occasions, and are stretchy enough to wear all day at work. Score!
Fall means a whole new outlook on life: it means chilly nights by the fire, warm apple cider, and leaves turning every jewel-bright color. I’m celebrating the beginning of fall by thinking of all the things I want to do: apple picking, baking cookies, staying home on cool nights with a big book, drinking fall beers, and going to family events. It’s also so much fun to change up your wardrobe according to the season. I always use a lot of color in my outfits, and I tend to go through stages according to the season (and sometimes I like to break the rules).
September has been, and will be, a very busy month for me. I have two engagement parties, two weddings, two big milestone birthday parties, a weekend getaway, and celebrating my parents’ anniversary. They’re all wonderful things, but hopefully October quiets down more and I can savor the beginning of fall—with very many books, cuddled up in bed. 🙂
Hey all! Happy Friday, and hope you’re having a great week so far. I’m in San Diego this week for a work conference, and while I’m here I’m making sure to take time to see the sights. This is only my second time in California, and I’m seriously loving the weather and the people, and this city. Quickly falling in love with San Diego. 🙂
Hey everybody! It’s officially the season for summer dresses. This time of year I always stock my closet with versatile, lightweight, and girly summer dresses that make getting ready, whether for work or play, a total breeze. I played around wit mixing patterns today, pairing this beautiful, fit-and-flare blue striped dress with pink floral heels, combining some of my favorite style elements: florals, full skirts, and a contrasting color palette. Hope you like!
Hey all! This week I have a fun outfit to share combining two major trends this year, and two of my favorite ones possibly ever: embroidery and bell sleeves! It’s definitely an eye-catching combination, but I think it’s super fun to style these two very bold trends in one look, and this is an outfit I’ve worn a few times, and one I always feel pretty and confident wearing! I’m pretty obsessed with embroidery lately, ain’t gonna lie. Anything floral print pretty much has my heart. <3
One of the best pieces I bought this year was this simple, button-down denim dress. A frugal shopper, I scored it on sale at Wet Seal just before they closed down, and despite the price tag, it’s a quality piece I’ve worn a dozen times already since I bought it in late January. I’ve worn it to work with tights during winter, and now that it’s a wet, chilly spring here, it’s still the perfect casual work look—with a spring upgrade!
I’m all about trying ways to make my work outfits super fun, and one of the ways I do that is by playing with patterns and shapes. There’s nothing I love better than a good ol’ floral print, so wearing anything with a floral print (like embroidery) instantly makes me feel more like myself! Which is especially important when you’re dressing for work–business casual can even be a drag sometimes.
I put together this look with shades of blue and a contrasting pale pink shoe. I think it’s a perfect work-appropriate spring look that you can wear afterward, too. Letting an outfit take you from desk to dinner is a definite plus! Hope you like this look. 🙂Read More »
End of summer means TIGHTS! I’m one of those girls who love stockings and tights of all kinds, and think that a good pair of tights can totally make an entire outfit. I love patterned tights, brightly-colored tights, soft knit ones, and thin sheer ones to achieve every kind of look possible.
Today, I’m highlighting these amazing brocade-patterned knit tights by Hue, paired with this amazing, heavy sweater dress from Dezzal. It’s a bit of an unusual style, because the hems are all artfully ripped in different places, which is why I absolutely had to have this dress to begin with! It’s heavy and warm, but the no-sleeves thing make it a good fall piece—perfect to transition! I hope you like this look…
