I feel like I’ve been talking about work a lot this year, from dealing with my commute to figuring out how to look cute and professional at the same time. But I haven’t ever shared an example of what kind of outfits I usually put together, so here’s one!

I love this dress because it’s lightweight and the length is perfect, but it’s still very much my style, and it’s also endlessly customizable. I’ll wear this a couple times a month and change out my belt, shoes, or cardigan, and it looks different every time. It’s also soft and breathable, so it’s great for the whole year, from dark winter months to warm spring.

I think it’s really important to have versatile, work-horse pieces in your closet that you can fall back on when picking out yet another outfit for work becomes a major hassle! This dress is that for me. Paired with a burgundy shrug, a ribbon belt, and these old Anthropologie shoes I’ve had for years (they’re called “Bronte” boots!). Hope you like!

I’m really into monochrome outfits right now, that incorporate different shades of the same color. This one is a little dark green/forest green/brownish outfit that of course I had to ruin with a long lace vest. I’ve got two of these skirts from Boohoo—I’ve worn the other before—and I think this one will become a staple throughout winter.

Happy Tuesday! I started a new job this week so I’m still adjusting to the schedule change. Here’s an outfit I put together with some old and new pieces. My favorite part of this outfit is my necklace: it’s actually a pound coin I brought back from London and stuck in a coin bezel. I spent New Year’s in London, and since I’m not really one for souvenir shopping, I decided to make this little memento of my trip!

Pretty scarf from The Scarf Shop, and the whole outfit is sort of styled around its colors. Hope you like! 6_the_most_happy_blog

I love the colors, textures, and patterns of this outfit. I also love the contrast of pairing high-waisted pants/crop top combo with a long, boho cardigan like this one, absolutely perfect for fall. It’s from boohoo.com, which is quickly becoming my one-stop shopping site. Price-wise it’s close to Forever 21, but I think the quality is much better.

I added some old touches: my trusty overknee suede boots that are basically an almost daily staple during the colder months, and a braided belt my mom bought in the 80s! It looks vintage, but also like something Balmain would come out with! I also wore this belt on Halloween night for my Kendall Jenner costume, because it reminded me of this braided, embellished Balmain top, and she’s like, Mrs. Balmain. 🙂
