Happy Friday, all! Today I’m heading off with my cousins and sisters to Austin, Texas, for my cousin’s bachelorette party. It’s been a chilly, wet April and I’m so excited to be spending the weekend somewhere really hot! I bought this umbrella about a month ago when I saw it on Amazon and fell in love. I used to work at an art company, and I have always loved ballet, so this umbrella, printed with Degas’ ballerinas, was a perfect choice to keep me dry in the April showers. Hope you like this look!
I’m all about trying ways to make my work outfits super fun, and one of the ways I do that is by playing with patterns and shapes. There’s nothing I love better than a good ol’ floral print, so wearing anything with a floral print (like embroidery) instantly makes me feel more like myself! Which is especially important when you’re dressing for work–business casual can even be a drag sometimes.
I put together this look with shades of blue and a contrasting pale pink shoe. I think it’s a perfect work-appropriate spring look that you can wear afterward, too. Letting an outfit take you from desk to dinner is a definite plus! Hope you like this look. 🙂Read More »
Happy Fashion Friday, all! I hope that wherever you are, the sun is shining and it’s 75 degrees. We’ve had a beautiful week of spring in New York, and it’s totally given my whole mood a lift. I’ve been planning more outdoor activities, like outdoor/rooftop bars, wandering around Central Park, and simply eating my lunch outside. There’s nothing quite as beautiful as spring, especially in the city.
Here’s a new look today, an early spring look for when it’s still too chilly to ditch the tights. I wore this to a Passover seder last week, and also to work!
I love scalloped hems! They’re such a fun, flirty trend that I have embraced wholeheartedly. I love it on skirts, shirts, and now sleeves! Simple, but adds such a touch of elegance and whimsy to any outfit. This outfit was born from a need to feel springy and yet still be warm, because, as I’ve been whining about for months, it’s still super cold here. Tights, suede boots, and a thick skirt are still necessary, but I can’t help but gravitate toward shorter sleeves and lighter clothes. Hope you like this outfit!
Hi all! Spring is on the horizon, I very much hope. Today I’m sharing an outfit featuring one of my favorite trends: the “deconstructed” or redesigned button-down trend! I got this amazing top, with stripes, balloon sleeves, and a bow at the waist, and I was obsessed with it. It’s such a fun, unique spin on a regular ol’ white shirt, and it’s also perfect for work. I always think about clothes now in terms of whether or not it’s work-appropriate, and half the fun I have with fashion these days is finding ways to put together cute outfits that show off my personality, all the while being cognizant of work-appropriate attire! I think this definitely fits the bill.
There’s nothing better than a little black dress. It’s always in style, it’s always flattering, and it’s always versatile. Here’s one I just bought that is flattering for my body type and even incorporates some trendy touches that I happen to love, namely, the tie at the neck and the billowy sleeves! The skater skirt is perfect for night and day, and I can even pull this off at work, maybe with a structured blazer?
Hey all and happy Saint Patrick’s Day! I celebrated last weekend and last night, with a home-cooked dinner of corned beef and cabbage. I’m not Irish, but there’s a huge Irish-American community around here and I love to get in the spirit. A pretty casual look today, with my favorite colors to wear: pink and white. I especially love blush pink and off-whites; they’re just so feminine and romantic to me.
I put this outfit together from a bit of old and a bit of new: this beaded white vest is old—I’ve had it since 2010! The rose-colored jeans I bought in the fall, and this bell-sleeve top is brand new! I’m really, really into bell/embellished sleeves this season, which will definitely translate well to spring and summer. Hope you like this look!
Hi all! Today I’ve got a not-so-classic blue jeans/white shirt combo for ya. A few weeks ago I DIYed these floral embroidery jeans and I could not wait to style them in an outfit here. The process was pretty simple: just some adhesive sheets, a lot of cutting, and ironing them on a pair of jeans I already had. I love the way they turned out! Hope you like this look.
Hi all! Today I have a fun look combining two of my current favorite colors: navy blue and magenta. I think this color combination is so fun, especially to brighten up a look during deep winter. Over here it’s not too cold anymore—seems like spring came early to New York! But since I’m still wearing stockings and light coats, this seems like a perfect outfit to start transitioning to the warmer weather!
Happy Friday! Today I have a fun work look to share, built around these beautiful blue floral tights I received as a present from my cousins this Christmas. They’re gorgeous—I especially love the open weave of the leaf detail! These are definitely a statement piece, so I thought I’d take the opportunity to style a look with a color palette that gets a bad rep: blue and black.
