Beauty Review // When Masks: Sheet Masks for Every Skin Crisis

Hi all! Today I have another skincare review for you, as a supplement to my recently-updated skincare routine. Now that it’s summer, my skin needs way less maintenance, but keeping it hydrated is still my number-one way to get rid of breakouts and blackheads. Today’s review is of the When Masks, a range of bio-cellulose sheet masks available at Sephora.

Beauty Review // New Wash by Hairstory: A Shampoo Replacement?

Hi all! If you’ve been a reader of mine for some time, you may know that my hair journey has been long, and it’s not over yet. When I was a teenager I straightened my hair daily, causing my natural wave to fall out and my hair to become dry, frizzy, and unhealthy. In college, I researched and made the switch over to sulfate-free shampoos, and after a few months, a bouncy, natural curl came in! Now, my natural curl has relaxed into a loose wave, and I almost never heat style. Because of that, I’m constantly on the lookout for a shampoo/conditioner combination that can result in a natural, frizz-free wave without product or irons!

In the past, I’ve tried a lot of shampoos/conditioners, like DevaCurl, Function of Beauty, and a few by Hask. My favorites are Function of Beauty (custom) and DevaCurl (Low-Poo). However, I’m always on the lookout for a new product. So I said yes when the opportunity to try something new came along: New Wash, by Hairstory Studio.

Beauty Review // Hyla3D HA Activating Complex by Jan Marini

Hey all! Today I have a beauty review to share, about the Hyla3D HA Activating Complex by Jan Marini Skin Research. As you may know, I have super sensitive, combination skin that’s prone to breakouts. I also have a touch of rosacea and I tend to get bad blackheads. Over the past few years, I’ve found that keeping my skin super moisturized is the key to staying breakout- and blackhead-free! It’s weird, because I have oily skin, but washing my face with oils and slathering on moisturizer really works wonders for me.File Apr 24, 5 07 05 PM

Beauty // HASK Greek Yogurt Shampoo & Conditioner Review

Happy Monday! Today I have another beauty review for you, of the Greek Yogurt with Fig & Honey Hydrating Collection shampoo & conditioner by Hask! As you may know, I have tried many shampoos and conditioners by Hask in the past, like their Hask Superfruit Healthy Hair Collection as well as their Chia Seed Oil Volumizing Conditioner. I really like the Superfruit Collection, and the Volumizing one a little less, but today’s topic is their new range with Greek yogurt, fig, and honey, which is supposed to be intensely hydrating. So let’s see how it stacked up!

Derma E Charcoal Beauty Products: A New Year Detox for my skin!

Hey all! Today I have a beauty review for you, about a company I am thrilled to work with. A lot of you may know I’ve always struggled with acne and breakouts, and have tried dozens of beauty products in my quest for clear skin. Eventually, I did settle on a combination of OTC and dermatologist-prescribed products, and was hesitant to add anything else in that may upset that happy equilibrium. However, I recently was asked to give Derma E products a try, and I was SO SURPRISED by how much I loved them!

How to Style Your Hair This Holiday Season

We are smack dab in the middle of the most wonderful time of the year, which means the stockings are hung and the lights are strung, eggnog and hot chocolate are our go-to drinks, and—last but certainly not least—our social calendars are overflowing with festive get-togethers and swanky celebrations. While you might already have your outfits all planned out, coming up with a party-ready hairstyle that’s equal parts elegant and effortless can often be a bit trickier. Whether you’re headed to an ugly sweater soiree or a black tie bash, we’ve got you covered with chic (and easy) holiday hair inspiration.

Retro Half Updo

half-up_gettyTake a page from the ’60s with a hairstyle that emulates the decade’s chic and sultry vibes. With loose curls and plenty of volume, this particular ‘do is ideal for a laidback celebration, elegant evening out, or anything in between. Even better, this half updo is a cinch to create—as Allure writes, the hardest part about this style will be crafting that bump of volume along the crown. A few rugged pushes with a teasing comb (don’t be overly delicate) right at the crown should do the trick. Then, smooth the rest of your hair up and over before gathering the top layer into a small cluster and securing. Add in soft curls with a large barrel curling iron where needed.
