I know, I know. Valentine’s Day is kind of a silly, made-up holiday. But if you’re into it, it’s really just a great excuse to celebrate the people in your life, and yourself. Valentine’s Day is not just for people in a relationship. It’s for best friends, families, and for you. So if you’re inclined, here are some ways to treat yourself this Valentine’s Day.
Buy Yourself a Gift
So, if you’re like me, you never stop buying yourself stuff you don’t need! 🙂 But if you’re more frugal than I am, Valentine’s Day is a great opportunity to splurge on something you really like and want. My favorite things are a new purse, a piece of jewelry, or a book you’ve been dying to read. Or all three, really. Sometimes, the excitement of buying something new puts you in a great mood, and you don’t even have to spend that much.
Go Out to Eat
This may be out of your comfort zone but it’s something I really love to do. Going out to eat is one of my favorite things, and it’s very peaceful when you’re by yourself. It’s something I get to do when I travel for work and when I have a day off. If you’re not into dinner by yourself on Valentine’s Day, for obvious reasons, go out to lunch! And order all your favorite things.
Have a Pamper Evening
Probably my favorite thing to do on Valentine’s Day is stay in and pamper myself! Taking a bath with a book is high on my list of things to do, as is ordering takeout and eating ice cream. But this isn’t an excuse to feel sad (if you’re single). It’s an opportunity to give yourself the things you need to feel good about yourself. I love soaking in the bath with a book, and I also love sitting in front of my TV with takeout. And actually, that’s what I’ll be doing this week since my boyfriend is working on the day and we’re instead spending the 15th together. I can’t wait for my pampering night in. :)
