Are you the kind of person who makes new year’s resolutions? I always do, but I try to frame them as goals instead. I feel like it keeps me motivated if I’m eager to check off a box, so I try to be specific when I make resolutions. Last year, my resolutions were to be healthy, learn how to cook and how to dance, and to travel. So how’d I do?
The healthy portion definitely fell by the wayside. I love food and the more of it, the better. I also don’t exercise that much at ALL, so that’s definitely one of my 2018 goals! I did well with trying to learn how to cook, and how to dance. I joined a ballet class in the spring and summer and am planning to continue in the new year! Finally, I did travel in 2017, going to San Diego for the first time. All in all, I’d give myself a 7.5. 😉
In 2018, my resolutions are to start exercising regularly, to finish a novel, publish more stories, continue ballet, and save money. That last one is especially important to me: I have a savings goal that I met this year, and I hope to continue that in 2018!
One of the things I’m most proud of in 2017 is publishing my first short story. In 2018, I hope to continue sharing my work and continue writing.
Do you ever set New Year’s Resolutions? What’s your biggest goal for 2018, and how do you make yourself stick to a goal? I’m definitely looking for tips!
