Is it just me or are pineapples everywhere these days? I really like them personally, I think they’re cute and summery and make for an excellent clothing print. Pineapples are also the international symbol of friendship, which is appropriate for this post, considering I bought this skirt after my friend wore it!
When I saw this skirt on my friend, I knew I had to buy it immediately, and I was happy to hear she bought hers from Amazon. It’s 95% cotton (love cotton) and it has the perfect midi skirt silhouette. The colors are so bright and pretty, and it’s so easy to style for work and after hours. Here, I styled this skirt simply, with bright whites that make me look tanner than I am. 😉 The finishing touch are these lace-up boots from Nasty Gal—they’re from 2014, but I linked a bunch of similar ones, like these and these, below!
I love midi skirts; I love how feminine they make me feel, and the way they drape over your knees when you sit. I hardly ever wear minis anymore, and a good dress, for me, has to be long enough to give my shape a little height: a longer skirt tends to slim me more than a shorter one, because it drapes over my hips! Just a little tip. 🙂
This crazy-cute outfit is also damn affordable: the skirt was only about $20, and everyone pretty much has basic white tanks in their closets (though I love the criss-cross detail on this one)! Another way to dress up this skirt would be to bring in complementary colors, like burgundy or purple, to contrast the yellows and oranges in the pattern. Maybe a statement shoe or a handbag?
