Hello all! Today’s look is all about spring pastels and retro vibes. Last summer, I was sent a pair of vintage-pattern polka dot shorts from Simple Retro, and they quickly became one of my favorite pieces ever—I wore them a dozen times, in summer and in the winter, and got so much use from them that I decided to buy another pair. Here they are, in a soft, dusty lavender color! They’re perfect for spring!
I really like the whole culottes trend happening right now, and these shorts are a similar pattern, but with pleats, and not as long as actual culottes. However they do have the same look! I paired these shorts with new blush pink, scalloped flats, a floral fabric belt, and a simple blouse on top. I hope you like this look!
Culottes and retro-style shorts like these are so fun because they can be styled for a lot of different occasions. They’re appropriate for work, they’re edgy enough to wear out, and dressy enough for more formal day parties and for stuff like brunch and dinner dates. Love them! I just got another pair of full-length culottes, and I can’t wait to play around with styling them. I think the key is to contrast the loose fit of the pants with a tighter top, and to elongate your leg as much as you can with light-colored shoes and heels!
Have an amazing Memorial Day Weekend everyone. 🙂
