Today I have an inspired-by Thanksgiving outfit built from old and new pieces in my wardrobe. This perfect Thanksgiving outfit is compiled almost exclusively of items that are years old. I’ve included some links below if you want to duplicate this Thanksgiving outfit! The emphasis here is on combining unusual colors to create something seasonal and classic!
I’ve worn this dress a couple times in the past two or three years; I love the silhouette and the design, but the best part is the colors: navy blue and a spring orange are unusual colors to combine, but they work perfectly together!
To make this dress perfect for a Thanksgiving outfit, I’ve added two complementary tones: mustard yellow and a deep, burnt orange. Here’s my color/texture palette:
I love the different variations of orange in this outfit and how they work with the dark blue! I’m obsessed with different color combinations and making an outfit look striking just by using color. And it also helps that these are golden, gorgeous fall hues!
One of the best little touches of this Thanksgiving outfit is the tights: from Berkshire Tights, these are tights with seams up the back, a design I absolutely love for its vintage feel. I’m a history lover, and I definitely love to add vintage touches to my outfits as a way to remember and pay homage to women and clothing trends of the past. The seam on tights from the early to mid 20th century was there because the nylon tights were sewn flat and then joined together at the back. When nylon became scarce during World War II, women used to draw the seam onto their legs to make it look like they were still wearing stockings!
These Berkshire Tights are the Back Seam style, which you can get for 15% off with coupon code “blogger15” as well as free shipping, until December 16 of this year!
