I’m a huge fan of the so-called kimono for fall. I adore drapey looks and loose silhouettes, and I just love the bohemian look a kimono gives to an outfit. But they’re generally easier to style in the warmer months because they’re not sturdy or substantial when you need warmth. But with the right kimono and the right styling, you can absolutely wear a kimono for fall!
Bohemian kimonos are perfect for fall if you’ve got the right one. I adore this long, sturdy kimono from Roadkill Ranch; it has the perfect fall colors with that gorgeous burgundy and mustard yellow pattern, making it super easy to style. Here, I pulled burgundy accents to make this look appropriate for the cooler months, with dark pants, a burgundy choker, and the Kylie Cosmetics lip kit in Leo! I kept everything else fairly neutral with a light colored top and chunky booties!
Style tips for wearing a kimono for fall:
- Pick one that’s a little heavier than most kimonos, so you can wear it sans jacket on warmer fall days.
- Pay attention to color—classic warm fall tones work best like mustard yellow, dark greens, burnt orange, and burgundy.
- Wear a long-sleeve shirt underneath for cooler days; you can always scrunch up the sleeves a bit to hide them under the kimono, or opt for a kimono with longer sleeves, even bell sleeves!
- Rock boho chic with confidence.
I also love this simple, dainty necklace also from Roadkill Ranch. It reminds me to be brave. 🙂 A little while ago I featured Julie from Roadkill Ranch as a featured blogger here, and so you can learn more about her and the shop here. I’m a big fan of promoting small businesses, boutiques, and personal brands, and so I’m all about Roadkill Ranch! Hope you liked this look.
