I’m a huge fan of anything that is vintage or that looks vintage, so I immediately fell in love with these polka dot, vintage-style shorts from Simple Retro. Since they’re A-line and high waisted, they look and feel more like a skirt, but they’re waaaay more comfortable! I styled these awesome vintage-style shorts with a simple white top and then added some simple accents in gold and black.
Also wearing: my new Kylie Cosmetics lip kit in Leo! It’s no secret that I loooove these colors and formulas, and this shade, a deep burgundy, is way out of my comfort zone. But when I tried it on I absolutely loved it. Another reason I love fashion and beauty is the random ways that changing up your style or look makes you feel more confident! Hope you like this look…
How to wear vintage-style, high-waisted, A-line shorts:
1. Pick a top that’s tighter to counteract the flowy effect of the shorts. Otherwise, the outfit may end up looking baggy instead of chic.
2. Elongate your legs with a heel. It doesn’t have to be high, but if you want your legs to look longer, wear this style of shorts with a heeled shoe in a neutral color. The neutral will make your legs look longer!
3. Pick accents that won’t clash with the vintage feel of the shorts. Here, I wore a necklace I made with a British pound coin instead of a heavy chain or statement piece that would clash with the vintagey shorts!
4. Rock them with confidence. It’s all you need. 🙂
