Okay, I know it’s not the end of summer yet, but when I shop mid-July, it’s usually because I’m transitioning a wardrobe to work in the early fall, too! I’m a big fan of the boho look, but with tailored pieces and soft accents, and this year is no different. All summer I’ve been really into florals, maxis, and my good ol’ easy fallback, the romper. (Actually, now I’m realizing that my favorite summer looks are one-piece, easy to style outfits, which makes perfect sense for an easy summer wardrobe!) So for early fall, when it’s still warm during the day but cooler at night, here are some of the things on my wish list:
I love the darker colors for work, but the fabrics are breathable and light. And for off-hours, I like incorporating lighter colors, like the off-white and blush colors I always wear, with burnt orange and more typically autumn colors! I also love the cut and fabric of #4, it’s very fall. My favorite way of transitioning a wardrobe is to gravitate toward light layers, which is where that white kimono comes in. Throwing another layer over a romper or shorts makes an outfit more appropriate for the cooler weather. I also like having non-specific color palettes for that time between the seasons, so you’re not too summery or fall-like! Hence the gray skirt! Perfect for all seasons (maybe except winter 😉 ).
