A Bit Behind in Books

I picked a mix of bookish blogs and fashion blogs, as well as a couple travel/lifestyle ones. These terrific blogs are run by some people whose work I have come to admire. We’ve shared ideas and I’ve been inspired by them! So, here are is your award and the questions I ask you:

1. What did you want to be when you were a child?

2. Which historical figure would you have lunch with and why?

3. What item could you never live without?

4. What color is your favorite pair of shoes?

5. What do you see in your blog’s future?

6. What book could you read over and over?

7. What’s your favorite season and why?

8. Righty or lefty?

9. Favorite place you’ve visited?

10. Coffee or tea?

11. Rain or snow?

The guidelines for this award is that to accept it, you should answer the 11 questions, post 11 random facts about yourself, and most importantly, single out 5-11 blogs with fewer than 300 followers to award, and ask them questions. This is a great way to reward great blogging, give your fellow bloggers some love, and hopefully an influx of new followers who will love their blog as much as you do!

  • Eeeee! (That’s an excited blogger-girl noise, heh heh)

    Thanks for nominating me!

And congrats on the nomination yourself. Your blog has a wonderful finesse and professionalism to it that I truly admire 🙂

  • Thanks so much for the nomination! My first one!

Now to think about those questions… 🙂

  • Thanks for the nomination!

  • Thank you! Here are the answers to my questions and some completely random facts about me! http://jackiemania.wordpress.com/2014/04/26/leibster-award/

  • Why hello, and thank you for the nomination! I’ve found a few new blogs to follow as well 🙂
As for some of your questions… my favorite shoes are brown (boring!); I could re-read both Pride and Prejudice and Jane Eyre over and over; my favorite season is fall; coffee > tea; and I like both rain and snow.

  • Thank you so much for the nomination!! You are so sweet. 🙂 I was nominated previously in February and did a post then, but I’ve answered your questions! (Sorry it took so long to reply to you; some of them were hard!) 😉

    1. What did you want to be when you were a child?
From what I can remember, I wanted to be a teacher and/or a writer/author at various points in my childhood.
    2. Which historical figure would you have lunch with and why?
Okay, this is pretty hard. I have no idea what we would talk about since I’m not in biology/medicine, but I feel like it’d be cool to chat with Marie Curie. I wonder what it was like for a women scientist back when women didn’t really do science.
    3. What item could you never live without?
My contact lenses, or some way of seeing! I have really bad eyesight.
    4. What color is your favorite pair of shoes?
I’m currently in love with my cognac boots and tan sandals from Madewell.
    5. What do you see in your blog’s future?
Just keep on keeping’ on 🙂 Hopefully my style solidifies some more and my outfits become better!
    6. What book could you read over and over?
I have never actually read a book more than once. I love books but don’t have the desire to reread them ever. I might reread The Princess Diaries series because I haven’t read them all but there is a ridiculous amount of books in it!
    7. What’s your favorite season and why?
This is so hard! I think I like summer the best because I’d rather be too hot than too cold any day, but fall can be really nice and refreshing.
    8. Righty or lefty?
    Righty
    9. Favorite place you’ve visited?
Hard to pick just one place, but I LOVED Italy and can’t wait to go back.
    10. Coffee or tea?
I’m not a huge fan of either, though I kind of like chai tea.
    11. Rain or snow?
Rain is easier to drive in but snow is prettier. I think I prefer rain because snow means it’s cold!

    • Oh silly me, Marie Curie was a physicist/chemist. Our fields are still different. She was a pretty badass person!

    • Thanks for doing this! Loved your answers! I know the Liebster can get kind of tiring, but thank you for answering my questions 🙂 Happy blogging!

  • Such a late response (I’ve been MIA for a few months…hardly the quality of a good blogger!), but thank you so much for nominating me, Lisa! I’d love to accept and spread forward the Liebster love…how do I do so? (Do I answer the questions here or on my own blog?)

    Cheers,
    Sam

    • Thanks for accepting! If you want, you can choose to pass on the award and nominate several others, or if not, you may answer the questions here! So glad you’re back in the blogosphere!

  • I hope to highlight my own Liebster nominees on my own blog, but for the time being, allow me to answer your questions here, as well! By the way, Lisa, you top my own list! I love all of the content– literature, style, everything. And you write so well! It’s an honor to be nominated by as fantastic a blogger as yourself.

    1. What did you want to be when you were a child?
I actually wanted to go to college to become a grocery bagger at a supermarket! Then I decided I wanted to be an author. Now I want to do something in theatre.

    2. Which historical figure would you have lunch with and why?
Vincent Van Gogh, hands down. I love his paintings. I’d love to be able to speak with him about pretty much whatever he felt like.

    3. What item could you never live without?
    My Burt’s Bees chapstick!

    4. What color is your favorite pair of shoes?
    Cobalt blue.

    5. What do you see in your blog’s future?
Hopefully readership growth, inspiring collaborations with other bloggers, and an increased presence within the queer blogging community!

    6. What book could you read over and over?
    “Beloved” by Toni Morrison.

    7. What’s your favorite season and why?
Fall. The colors, the smells, the versatility of my style. Plus Thanksgiving! It’s perfect.

    8. Righty or lefty?
Righty! I wish I were ambidextrous.

    9. Favorite place you’ve visited?
Glen Coe in Scotland. Absolutely breathtaking.

    10. Coffee or tea?
Tea! I love Tazo passion tea.

    11. Rain or snow?
Snow! Or rain if I have nothing to do that day and can snuggle up under the covers with a good book.

    • I’m so happy you’ve answered the questions! Actually, it seems like we have a lot in common. Also, it’s truly an honor to know you enjoy my blog. I adore yours as well and I know you’re going to take it far! I’ll be an avid reader, that’s for sure!
